Our “Eductour” to the Ile Rousse

Our “eductour” to Corsica with La Méridionale

Invited by La Méridionale, our teams boarded the Kalliste departing from Toulon to Ile Rousse, heading to the Isle of Beauty! Eductours are the big trend among travel organizers. They make it possible to reach a large target indirectly, thanks to their hand-picked guests. Partner travel agencies as well as a panel of influencers are then invited to discover a service, and above all share it with their respective communities!

We boarded the Kalliste, a sumptuous ship on a human scale, which can accommodate up to 500 passengers and 44 crew members. To initiate this night crossing, we were offered a tour of its facilities, including the bar, the restaurant, the cabins and the bridge.

The company knew how to pull out all the stops, both literally and figuratively! The evening meal was a journey in itself, through the different culinary specialties that Corsica can offer us. We had not yet weighed anchor when the crossing had started.

Corsica through the Ile Rousse

A well-conducted tourist road map allowed us to discover the emblematic places of Île Rousse and its surroundings. Located in the north of Corsica, it is the place where the water is the warmest on the entire island of beauty! In May and October, the temperature exceeds 20°. Many beaches await you there, such as Napoléon or Caruchettu.

Many other attractions attract tourists, history buffs, walkers and those curious about local life. You can contemplate the sea from the Marinella promenade, or enjoy its typical covered market. If you are curious to know why Île Rousse has this name, you will have to go to the Place du General Pascal Paoli. But what link with his name you tell me? Well, originally, the city was called “Cité Paoline”, in homage to its founder. Nearly 300 years after its founding, the ocher porphyry rocks took over to make it world famous. This is how it is today internationally known as Île Rousse.

As for visiting, how can you leave Île Rousse without making a detour to the Île de la Pietra. It is possible to access it via a bridge attached to the commercial port and the city center. After a short stroll of around thirty minutes, you will have the chance to admire the strength of the buildings of the past: the Genoese tower in particular, built around 1510, served to protect the city from barbarian invaders.
